Are you a friendly recruiter?

Posted by in general. No Comments

It was 5:15pm and I picked up the phone to call a client about an email they had just sent me.  I am not using this blog as an opportunity to tell all of our eBoss clients that I was working past 5, but lap it up anyway, as it’s not often I stay in the office past 5 (As you know by now, I have a wife and kids).

Anyway, back to the phone call. It was a phone call with a new client. Which one of the hundreds of new clients I hear you ask???  Well I told him that I would be writing this blog, mentioned how I would make reference to a very well spoken, sharp, professional, cut throat recruiter who had been a the head of his game for the last 15 plus years, but promised, I would not mention him or his company.  Oh how we laughed…..

This new client of ours had only been with us for a couple of weeks and although I had not sold him the service initially, we had spoken a few times and I would like to think that we hit it off pretty well straight away.  We have laughed about numerous topics, many of which would be better placed in another blog world altogether!!!!  Now at this point a thought did cross my mind, how easy it is to be in recruitment?  Pick up the phone have a chat, make some people laugh, close the deal and watch the bank balance and reputation grow.

In short, the answer is no.  The rapport you build up with your clients and candidates is a large part of what makes you successful, in addition, the quality of people you represent and if you have a team working for you, the job they do of representing you, all contributes to a good recruiter or recruitment company. However, there is another component, and that is something that I firmly believe should be one of the corner stones of any recruitment company’s foundations and that’s a good recruitment software system.

Before I rant on about what is required of an excellent recruitment software package, I must highlight one of my main points, and that’s the cost.  You do not have to pay an arm or even a leg for a system, nor should you have to sign a contract in blood agreeing to the offering up of your soul should you change your mind, or indeed want to leave (experience of a recently saved new client who nearly went with a competitor). You need a system that pays for itself, a system that grows as you grow, allowing your bank balance the same opportunity to prosper.

You need a system that stores your information, automates numerous tasks, takes the repetition out of recruitment. A system that lets you search through your thousands of candidates, clients, contacts or jobs, with a fine tooth comb, and finally (although there is loads more functionality) a system that is intuitive, easy to use and is ever enhancing its offering to you.

So, our loyal customers, you bring the people skills, we’ll bring the recruitment software skills (at a David Cameron, budget friendly £39 per person, for the life of our relationship) and together we will make recruitment love.

In short, you need eBoss recruitment software and we need you.  Shameless plug opportunity, if you know someone in recruitment and you don’t mind them having an equally as good system as you, introduce them to us, you might get a pleasant surprise.

Thank you and happy recruiting.

I am out of the office until Monday the 19th of July and will not be checking email regularly.
